PR: Supporting life-changing fundraising for Northampton Saints Foundation

Northampton Saints Foundation has been the MPA charity of choice for a number of years and we’re pleased to be extending our support by sponsoring the third annual Foundation Day this February. It’s set to be the Foundation’s biggest fundraising event of the year.

Saturday 25th February will see Northampton Saints take on Gloucester Rugby at cinch Stadium, Franklin’s Gardens, in a Gallagher premiership clash, with an array of fundraising activities also taking place.

The Foundation is financially independent of Northampton Saints and needs to raise over £400,000 this year through grants, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events like the Foundation Day to sustain its life-changing work.

MPA Managing Director and Northampton Saints Foundation Trustee Mike Price said:

We are absolutely thrilled to be supporting what is sure to be a fantastic day alongside Approved Business Finance.

I’ve seen first-hand the difference initiatives like this can make to people and their communities. For those who struggle to thrive in mainstream educational settings, it can be hard to see a bright future, to stay motivated, and to feel inspired. However, so many of the core values needed to excel within sports environments can be taken and adapted to help young people see how to channel their passions and overcome their own battles.

I really hope we can smash last year’s fundraising target and show everyone what the Foundation is all about.

A word from the players

What is Northampton Saints Foundation?

Northampton Saints Foundation uses the values of Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club and the power of sport to inspire, support, and educate young people. By collaborating with local businesses, schools, and communities they work with those lost in mainstream education to help them develop new skills, rebuild confidence, and increase their employability.

Why Foundation Day?

Four months into the new academic year, the Foundation has already worked with over 2,400 people through heritage events, and social inclusion and education programmes. It expects this number to grow considerably throughout the year as they support some of the county’s most vulnerable people.

Catherine Deans, Managing Director at Northampton Saints Foundation said:

Each year we see a significant rise in people who need our support. With a rise in numbers comes increased costs in venues, staff, and the services we are able to provide – which is why days like Foundation Day are so important.

The matchday crowd can expect a host of activities, auctions, and a raffle with some incredible prizes, as well as chances to meet Northampton Saints’ players in the Supporter Village.

We want to encourage the entire Northamptonshire community to support the Foundation by purchasing tickets, donating, and getting involved with the activities on the day, and we hope you share our excitement about what’s to come.

Tickets for the Foundation Day match include entry to the stadium to watch Northampton Saints versus Gloucester Ruby, access to all the activities taking place, and to the Supporter Village.
