MPA has a bright future with the LIA

Since teaming up with the Lighting Industry Association, we have been able to provide their members with a bespoke service to claim back their maximum R&D tax credit entitlement. Our staff have worked with the LIA to provide guidance on R&D tax credits, putting them in a strong position to advise their members on how to access funding. In turn, their team have educated us on the UK lighting industry, which allows us to better understand our lighting clients and provide them with the claim service they deserve.
Who are the LIA?
The LIA is the largest trade association in Europe dedicated to serving the UK lighting industry, providing over 300 members with the support they need to achieve excellence in their lighting speciality.
Its aim is to develop the quality, safety and performance of the UK lighting industry. They are certainly achieving this through the knowledge they provide, as well as a professional training academy which was set up to act as a one stop shop for all training and development needs.
But that’s just the start. The LIA have gone on to set up Europe’s largest independent test laboratory dedicated to lighting. Here businesses improve their product performance and efficiency through the use of sophisticated testing equipment. The lab can even go as far as providing the documentation required to mark a product with a CE mark.
We were fortunate enough to have been invited to The LIA’s annual sailing regatta in Southampton last May. A great day where our staff were able to interact with other members whilst learning how to sail and enjoying a day on the water.
We also attended their annual luncheon, which was another opportunity to network and inform members about the different methods to finance R&D projects. It was a learning experience for our staff too, with seminars being held on the day which were both informative and interesting.
Lux Live is Europe’s biggest lighting event; every year it exhibits the revolutionary lighting technology being developed and is a great way to become connected to a network of industry experts. In November 2017, the LIA invited us to exhibit as part of their immersive area at the event. This opportunity allowed us to demonstrate why we are the best option for innovative companies looking to claim R&D tax credits.
Why partner with MPA?

Partnering with MPA gives associations an additional service offering, providing their members with access to a team of specialists who maximise claims through their industry-specific knowledge.
Although the LIA provides a raft of services and benefits around lighting, partnering with MPA has broadened our offering in an area that has already provided some game changing benefits to some of our members.
