History of Innovate UK Women in Innovation Award

Launched in 2016 by Innovate UK, the Women in Innovation program aims to rectify the lack of female representation in business innovation and to boost their participation in Innovate UK’s funding initiatives. Since its launch, the program has empowered exceptional women throughout the UK to realise their business aspirations and effectuate global change, while promoting gender diversity across the UK’s innovation sectors. Since its inception, the Women in Innovation Programme:

• Has allocated more than £10 million in funding to over 200 outstanding women, aiding them in expanding their businesses and serving as accessible role models to inspire future female innovators.
• Has established a thriving network of over 9,500 female business leaders, ambassadors, and supporters.
• Has facilitated collaborative opportunities for female innovators with various esteemed organizations and networks, enhancing learning and sharing experiences.
• Has significantly broadened its influence and effectiveness in advocating for a gender-balanced business innovation landscape in the UK.

Innovate UK Women in Innovation 2024/25

The Innovate UK Women in Innovation Awards 2024/25 will award 50 women up to £75k in grant funding plus a comprehensive package of mentorship, networking, training and 1-to-1 business coaching. Applications for Innovate UK Women in Innovation 2024/25 will open on 13 May.
